Schiphol Art Work

Maarten Baas and Schiphol Airport present: “The People’s Clock.”

With the clock created with almost a thousand volunteers, - most of them Schiphol employees - people literally become time.

In a 12-hour recording, participants formed the hands of the clock. If you look closely, a runner in orange marks the seconds, completing one lap every minute.
This permanent art installation can now be seen in Lounge 1, the departure hall for Schengen destinations.

(And of course, the original Schiphol clock is still on view in Lounge 2.)
